Style Guide: How To Wear The Pantone Color Of The Year

I love the way color tends to emerge once spring hits – it’s like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. This spring is no different and it’s all about flaunting pops of color to show the world that you're bright and on trend!

I, for one, have committed to rocking green this season, because a) it surprisingly looks great against all skin tones b) it serves as the perfect neutral against other pops of color – I guess that’s why nature chose it as its signature hue, and c) I read somewhere that it's meant to attract abundance, and I'm all for that!

Let's check out a few ways you can wear Pantone’s official color of the year this season...

1. Flirty in Green

The great thing about color is that you don't have to wear it all over to make an impression. You can simply add a quick hint of brightness, and you're still rocking the latest fashion. This gorgeous MSGM print skirt is the ideal work-to-evening piece, and when paired with a crisp white blouse you'll stay both cool and fashionable!

These gorgeous, strappy Jimmy Choo sandals are the perfect neutral to add a little sophistication to the whole affair.

2. Green Chic

If you're not quite ready to shed your winter look, but you still want to throw in the color of the season, then this funky, Choies faux-fur coat in delicious green will tick all the boxes you need. And I should mention it's surprisingly affordable, which is how I prefer to make my more trendy purchases ;)

This coat is a stunning, emerald shade of green, which seems to glimmer in the light, and you can easily toughen the whole look up a la Courtney Kerr with some ripped black jeans like these Frame distressed pair (also available in white).

3. A Peek Of Green

One of the easiest ways to wear green (or any bright color for that matter) is to color block one-half of your body. I personally love the quirkiness of green bottoms, rather than the easy option. This pair of Vanessa Bruno cropped trousers are the ideal pop of color for this coming season, and can easily be paired with any neutral such as white, black or gray.

4. Over-The-Knee in Green

Another one of this season's fashion hitters is the over-the-knee boot, and if you throw in a spot of green to go with your sexy boots, you're hitting big fashion targets! Of course, the boots themselves don't have to be green as Jean Exum of Elegant Edge shows us. This beautiful Balmain blazer is the ideal companion for this pair of Schutz over-the-knee boots

As you can see, color isn't that difficult to wear, and in fact it can be ultra-easy!

Don't get stuck in a rut with black, white, grey, or navy (I’m totally guilty) and commit to throwing in some brightness from time to time. I dare you! You'll soon see what it can also do for your mood ;)

Keeping up with our color theme this month, next week we’re going to take it up a firey notch and check out red hot shades designed to add a spot of attitude and sexiness to any outfit. See you then!!
