Style Guide: What To Wear To A Sporting Event

Are you crazy for sports? Maybe you love to play, maybe you love to spectate, or maybe you just like watching the players ;-) Whatever camp you fall into, summer approaching means plenty of sporting events are coming our way, so I thought it would be a great idea to talk about what we should be wearing to these types of events! No, you don't have to go with shorts and sneakers. There are endless options, just like the ones I'm about to show you.

COWBOY BOOTS

Yee-haw! Cowboy boots are making a big comeback, and I'm loving it! To avoid looking dated, pair your boots with something a little different from your old-fashioned denim and you'll be as fresh as a daisy instead. These ARIAT boots are super-versatile and look fantastic with this white pocket skirt. I recommend a pop of color on top and, of course, you have to rock a pair of shades as well.

CASUAL DRESS

Keeping it casual at a sporting event is a key look, and with the right dress you know you'll be super comfortable as well. This suede number by Vanessa Seward is not only perfect for the stadium, but it can also be dressed up for a night out on the town - flexibility is key when you're on a budget!

If it's a little cold, throw on a biker jacket for a flash of edginess, and keep the whole look on-trend with a pair of statement boots such as these Gianvito Rossi suede boots

The casual dress is, again, very flexible, which is what makes it one of my faves.

CASUAL CHIC

You can't beat great skinny jeans, no matter the event, and this pair of ripped Frame jeans will keep your look casual, yet extremely chic. Of course, it's all about what you style them with, so you could go with Converse for a more off-duty look, or you could rock a pair of heels, which is certainly my option. These Christian Louboutin peep-toes should be on your wish-list for sure!

COLOR COORDINATE

Last, but by no means least, we have the option to color coordinate with your team's colors. But just because you're at a sporting event, doesn't mean you have permission to throw your fashion sense out the window. That just sets my OCD right off!

This APC denim skirt is the perfect base, no matter your team, and it can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. Throw it together with a chic yet casual cami top, such as this Mes Demoiselles velvet option, and you'll have a very on-trend look from the start. Of course, it's about the accessories, so a pair of shades, and some earrings will finish off your style. Trust me, with this outfit you will have your mascot as well as the editor of Vogue equally impressed ;)

Whether you're a keen sports fan or you simply head to an event for the social aspect, dressing up for the occasion is half the battle. Step into one of these looks and you'll be the number one fan no matter which side you're supporting.

Next week we're all about something a little more comfortable - sneakers. If you have no idea how to style them outside of the gym, I'm going to show you how!
