Festive lights are starting to sparkle, holiday tress are going up and gift-giving has officially begun. Not too far down on the list is planning for what to wear to all the parties - both large and small - that we have looming on the horizon. Put simply, I LOVE this time of year and especially all of the winter fashion that comes with it! I mean, who doesn't love a cozy knit? Boots are so much more comfortable than sandals, and all the layers...well they are particularly convenient for when you have a little extra weight to hide ;)
My love for this season runs deep, so I have made it my personal mission to make sure you enjoy it just as much! To get started, here are four staples you need to pull out of your closet or add to your shopping list asap so that you can get out and about and enjoy this most festive of seasons.
Weather-Proof Boots
Comfortable, stylish and easy to match either day or night, you can't beat a great pair of boots. One of the many perks of winter fashion is that it's totally acceptable (and easy) to be cozy yet fashionable at the same time, and these Kamik boots tick both boxes. Pair them with a pair of skinnies and a comfy, oversized sweater, such as this Theory cable-knit choice, and you'll easily tackle everything on that long list of To-Dos.

Multi-Purpose Leather Leggings
Leggings are universally flattering, and can be worn with sneakers for an easy, daytime look or paired with some heeled booties to quickly dress them up for evening. These faux leather leggings by Spanx have more than one advantage - not only do they look the part, but they also pull you in, in all the right places. After a little over indulgence at all of those holiday parties, there really is no better style solution!

An Extra-Warm, Versatile Jacket
So I will admit that there is a downside to winter when temperatures drop to the point where it becomes unbearably cold. But rather than look at this as a negative, let's take it as yet another opportunity to shop for a stylish closet staple. This Adam Lippes shearling coat is a perfect example of how to keep warm while staying on trend, and I love the idea of creating a more fitted style by belting it up as inspired by Jenny's look below.

Your Go-To Oversized Sweater
An oversized sweater allows you to "hide" your flaws - flawlessly - on those frigid days when you don't want to put too much thought into what to wear. Brunello Cucinelli's turtleneck sweater is a personal fave because it can easily be dressed up or down. Go effortlessly chic by pairing it with slouchy boyfriend jeans and then add a little height with ankle boots to air on the right side of casual.

From these looks you can instantly see why I love this season! Comfortably-chic, stylishly-cozy, what more can you ask for?
There is only one more full day before we start the December countdown to Christmas, and with that means the explosion of reds and greens all around us. Tune in next week when I'll be showing you exactly how to pull off these festive colors without looking like a tacky Christmas sweater. See you next month!!
