Summer would not feel complete without its casual and comfortable attire. But let's face it, some of summer's lightweight fabrics and breezy silhouettes are simply not office appropriate.
Commuting to work on public transportation, or even the 2 minute walk into your building from the car can cause major fashion issues when it's hot and humid outside. To help us all combat the overpowering heat, I am listing my tried and true ways to get through the workday successfully and stylishly!
LACE SKIRT + SHIRT + HEELS
A great pair of heels can radically change an outfit, turning an otherwise casual look into one more appropriate for the office or a client dinner. Jessie's informal, lace skirt is given the jumpstart it needs, thanks to her fun red heels and classic top. Accessorize wisely to create a breezy, yet chic work look!

PLEATED MAXI + SNEAKERS
For those of you who are commuters, a relaxed and long flowy skirt is a great option to wear to work during the heat of the summer. Swap a pair of comfortable sneakers for heels once you get to the office, or if your workplace allows it keep them on! Jane's look is perfect for a casual commuter, but if your workplace is more traditional, go ahead and swap the t-shirt for a button down as well.

LACE DRESS + HEELS
We covered the lace skirt above, but a lace dress is equally stylish when it comes to keeping cool at work. The sheer overlays add needed coverage to a cutout dress, making it more workplace appropriate. Maria's look is perfect for a summer day full of meetings. I especially love her rainbow rockstuds, which add just the right touch of color to her all white!

CULOTTES + HEELS
Culottes are easily my biggest obsession this summer. You can pair them with sky high heels or simple ballet flats. They work for commuting on the train, in a car or walking! Jenna is proof that these are without a doubt a chic trend this summer.
