Skin is in -- and along with that comes the rise of a glowing, au natural face which has been taking over the runways, beauty blogs, editorial features, and everywhere in between. It’s as though we’re finally bidding farewell to the super baked and intensely matte look, and welcoming the radiant, and dewy makeup look.
But how do we actually pull this look off without looking like our faces were doused in oil? Here are four tips to help you get your glow on!
Dewy Skin Is In: Start By Toning It Down
Before you even begin to attempt this look, you will want to minimize and eliminate the number of products in your beauty arsenal. And by this we not only mean the range of colors that you use on your face, but also the actual products that you pile on top of one another.
It’s time to make use of nude tones, and do away with all of those matte-perfecting products. We love this new makeup trend because it's all about enhancing your face’s natural assets—whether that be freckles, naturally thick brows, or high cheekbones—and of course, letting your skin (literally) shine through.

The dewy makeup look can be quite daunting at first, especially if you’re used to having perfectly put together makeup day in and day out. We’d say about 40% of pulling it off can be owed to the products you use and techniques you employ, but 60% of it lies in your confidence. So be proud of the skin you’re in!
Instead of trying to cover up every imperfection, go the opposite direction and let your skin breathe while highlighting its natural beauty. This is a great time to also start revamping your skincare routine. Your skin is the canvas on which you will be highlighting after all!

There are many ways to achieve the ideal amount of "glow" for you and your skin, and just because this beauty trend leans more towards a natural look doesn’t mean you can’t make use of your go-to makeup products.
Scan through blogs, beauty editorials, and video tutorials, to see which looks you could try out for yourself. For example, you may want to keep your cheeks lightly flushed with highlighter versus deep bronzer, or opt for a nude shade on your lip versus your go-to red. At the same time, you can enhance your eyes simply by using an eyeliner, mascara and your go-to brow pencil – and voila!
