Whether you were out rocking the 90s fashion statements or you were simply a little too young to be in on the action, the influences from that bright and colorful decade are slowly edging their way back into 2017 and one trend that I honestly did not see making a comeback is the choker.
Yes, that piece of material that adorned the neck of teenagers attempting to keep up with their celebrity stars is back with a bang, so like all things in life, we should embrace the trend and dive right in! To give you an idea of how to wear this comeback queen of style, here are a few classic chokers that won’t give you a fashion hangover.
LACY BABY
There is no fashion on this planet that fits everyone, but there are ways to re-jig things to suit you as an individual and your style. For instance, if you have a long neck, it’s a good idea to go for a wide choker because this will give the illusion of cutting down on the length. On the other hand, if you have a short neck, avoid thick chokers like the plague, and instead go for something more thin.
We know that lace is seductive with a capital S, so why not throw this fine fabric into your choker endeavors and tick two style boxes at one time?! Jesse's bralette, which rises towards the top of the chest to create a choker, is simply AMAZING. I have to get one myself!

CASUAL CHOKER
There’s no denying it, the choker is a versatile accessory, and it can be used to either dress up or down an outfit depending on your needs and style; you can pair a choker easily with a simple pair of jeans, or go for a bejeweled option to brighten up a LBD.
Because I normally wear chokers to go out at night, this look is inspiring me to branch out. Elshane's dainty gold choker is the perfect accessory to go with her casual look. I am feeling very inspired to invest in some pretty gold necklaces myself!

STATEMENT CHOKER
The statement choker never really went out of style but was pretty much only seen on the runway or red carpet. I love that with the resurgence of the choker, every woman can now rock an awesome new statement piece. For instance, check out the way Jenna pairs hers with a chic black dress and fun accessories - this is perfect for the everyday fashionista!

VELVET CHOKER
The velvet choker is definitely the most popular style today, and it's pretty obvious why. Velvet is beyond versatile - you can literally wear it with anything - and it instantly adds a level of chic. Jane's choker completes her outfit and takes her look to the next level.

ARE YOU IN OR OUT?
Choose from velvet, metal, leather, rhinestone, or lace to rock this coming season, and don’t think you have to go for the full-on sophisticated look. You can use a choker to give a boost of oomph to just about any outfit with ease. Of course, if you do want to really dress it up, go for jewels – the more the better!
Is this a trend you’re keen to get in on? The choker is definitely something that can be rocked by everyone, you just need to know what style suits your body best.
