There are certain closet staples that just never go out of style, no matter what else might strut its way onto the catwalk. Just as black is always going to be bang on trend, there are items of clothing lurking in your closet which will be eternally stylish.
The idea, of course, is to wear these staples the right way and to update them with a few high fashion pieces. You can simply throw on a pop of color to dress up a black dress, or you can rock some skyscraper heels to make your classic blazer totally current. It's easy, and I love the fact that timeless fashion lives in all of our closets!

A GREAT BLAZER
When temperatures aren't quite warm enough to brave bare arms, but it's certainly not cold, a blazer is the ideal cover-up, oozing timeless style. You can dress a blazer up or down, without much trouble. This is not simply an item you should save in your wardrobe for job interviews, this is something you should wear regularly!
This Pierre Balmain blazer looks sophisticated and much more expensive than it really is, and can easily be teamed with skinny jeans for a city chic vibe, or with wide leg pants, like these white Stella McCartney picks. Go for a standard color and you can pop in a colorful hue with a scarf from time to time.

Come on, who doesn't love their old faithful pair of black jeans? Whether you go for skinny, straight leg, or boyfriend style, you have a pair in your wardrobe that fit you perfectly and look fantastic, right? I know I do!

Just like we have a pair of black jeans, we all have a pair of old faithful blue ones too. Blue jeans are the daytime staple, a faithful warrior of fashion, no matter what the occasion. Again, find a fit that flatters your shape and stick with them for a good period of time.
