Ok, black is not technically a color so it can't really be my fave (hello turquoise!), but it is definitely my favorite shade to wear. It's a savior in almost every fashion emergency, but sometimes I fear we, or should I say I, am playing this card all too often.
No woman wants to become invisible in the great mass of fashionistas by always wearing head-to-toe black, but who wants to fully banish this fool-proof, colorless combo?? If you feel my pain, read on because today's style guide is all about fresh, new ways to wear black on black.
BLACK DRESS WITH A TWIST
The secret to mixing up all black lies in creative silhouettes. Take the LBD for example. You can bring life to a black dress by wearing it in a new shape and adding some fun accessories. I love the way Courtney wears this adorable maxi-dress with chunky gold jewelry, and pop-of-red heels!

LEATHER PANTS AND SEQUINS
My tip for head-to-toe black in multiple textures is to keep the rest of your look simple. Wear your makeup natural with straight hair, maybe gathered in a stylish ponytail or pulled up in a bun at the nape of the neck. Try pairing your favorite leather pants with a sequined top, but keep the heels nude. Jessie looks beautiful and classic in all black without looking like she's going to a rock concert!

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE COAT
If there's one piece I recommend making an investment in, it would be a killer, black coat. A refined, yet statement-making jacket can be the perfect way to add texture and depth to an otherwise simple look. Cathy's fringed blazer is the perfect example of sophistication at its finest!!

While head-to-toe black is by far one of my favorite ways to dress, I have to admit that it can get a little boring at times. I hope my ideas help bring a level of freshness to your all black attire ;)
